Byrock is a peninsular city overlooking Wandalup Bay. Situated to the southeast of Oldwell Cairn, Byrock is perhaps best known as the lone city to survive a series of earthquakes and fires that swept across Oldwell some three hundred years ago. While mountains rose to crush and bury the interior towns and cities, and the rest of the coastline crumbled into the bay, Byrock managed to survive. With much of Oldwell’s infrastructure destroyed, the events leading to the devastation are shrouded in legend and piecemeal records. Still struggling to recover centuries later, Byrock is in the midst of a massive public relations campaign to improve its image and draw new residents and entrepreneurs within its gates.
